This work cites the palace as a reference with respect to the style known as Arabisance and as a synthesis of local and Andalusian architectural styles (p. 91 to 96).

2. LOUATI Ali, Le Baron d’Erlanger et son palais Ennejma Ezzahra à Sidi Bou Said, Collection Patrimoine, published by Simpact, 152 pages.

This book is entirely devoted to the Erlanger Palace. It describes the circumstances under which it was commissioned and built and the impact the building had on its surroundings. The author also gives a detailed description of the palace, its ancillary buildings and the baron’s art and musical instruments collection.

3. AZZOUZ Achraf and MASSEY David, Maison de Sidi Bou Said, Dar Achraf Publications, Tunis 1993, 196 pages.

The chapter in this book devoted to Dar Ennejma Ezzahra mentions the establishment of the baron d’Erlanger in Sidi Bou Said and the purchase of the land. It gives an exalted description of the palace and the quality of life it sustained.  (pp. 84 to 95)

This brochure is a collection of articles, photographs and graphic documents referring to the listing of the monument, its restoration, its rehabilitation and to a part of its collections.

6. Tunisie pays de charme, ‘ Sidi Bou Said” published and printed by Plurigraf, Narni-Terni 1990 Italy.

This brochure refers to the history of the village of Sidi Bou Said. It mentions the site’s classification, thanks to the baron d’Erlanger’s efforts, as well as the subsequent classification of the palace.

This article was written by a group of authors from the National Agency for Heritage Presentation and Interpretation, that was appointed to oversee the restoration and rehabilitation project for the palace. The authors give an account of the various interventions carried out in this context. (pp. 16 to 19).

The article provides a description of the palace with an architectural critique based on conceptual, comparative and historical data (pp. 34 to 36).

This article contains six photographs including outside and inside views of the place and a description in Dutch (pp. 102 to 108).

This article praises the monument, which at the time had just been built, in elegiac terms.

11. Classification decree no577 of 29 May 1989, Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic  (JORT) no40 of 13 June 1989.

This decree refers to the classification of the palace as a historical monument.

This article gives an account of the Baron d’Erlanger’s work and the rehabilitation of his palace.

13.  Institut national du patrimoine – INP (National Heritage Institute) “Ennejma Ezzahra” published after the colloquium on XXth century architecture held in May 1999.

This article places the baron d’Erlanger’s palace  in the context of the Maghrebi and Andalusian architectural heritage. It provides an overview of the circumstances of its rehabilitation.

In this article the author refers to the Ennejma Ezzahra palace in terms of its architectural and artistic legacy.

This work refers to the restoration and rehabilitation of the palace project. It contains original plans and proposals from the National agency for heritage presentation and interpretation (ANEP), the organisation that provided the author’s internship.
