The creation of the “Ennejma Ezzahra” label dates back to 1995 when the first title “Tarab”, a live recording was released. It was the Centre for Arab and Mediterranean Music’s first musical production.
As a multidisciplinary cultural complex devoted to all the aspects of music, the CAMM pursues several missions in the field of heritage conservation, cultural activities, study and research and the publishing of audio recordings.
The creation of this label was in response to the need to fill a large gap in the publishing of audio recordings in Tunisia. The aim of the Ennejama Ezzahra label is to be a quality label that not only meets the needs of the public at large, but that will also become a reference label in the classical and traditional repertoires. However, it is not intended that the label should restrict itself to this domain. On the contrary, it seeks to reflect the diversity and the richness of musical expressions in Tunisia across the board.
The CAMM’s catalogue now includes six recordings and will shortly to be completed by several projects in progress.
